The origin of the Husky is in Siberia. He belongs to the northern dog breeds. Pulling a sled is what the Siberian Huskies were bred for. It comes more naturally to them than any other canine sport. Huskies require an enormous amount of attention. They are determined and persevering - necessary qualities in a good sled dog.
Siberian Huskies are not one person dogs but enjoy the company of the entire family, particularly children. They like strangers, too. Huskies prefer to stand around silently while the thief makes off with the silverware.
The Siberian Husky is a fast learner, obeys to commands but not reliable. He likes to hunt and he has an outgoing temperment. They have a habbit of chasing and killing cats, rabbits, pigs and even lambs or calves. The backyard should be escapeproof. Siberians need a lot of exercise - every day! These activities can include jogging, playing, biking, or best of all, sledding. One Husky can keep several family members in top condition.
